Sander Bellman -- Saddam's execution made us less human
DEAR EDITOR: Ron Goodden, in his Wednesday letter to the editor, insists that Saddam Hussein "deserved" his sentence. Now, I am opposed to all forms of capital punishment, but I suppose the world demanded the death of Saddam. And so it had to occur.

Sander Bellman -- Rice Lies and Another 10,000 to Die
In an appearance before the Senate Armed Services committee Thursday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice refused to provide an estimate of U.S. casualties, saying, “Such estimates are not possible” — but the Pentagon assessment had been delivered to the White House on Tuesday, two days before her testimony! More perjury by this corrupt administration.

Sander Bellman: The Presidency and Person of Gerald Ford
I have hesitated to post this because I do not want to speak ill of the dead. However, with the numerous hagiographies that have been written about former President Ford these past few days, I felt I needed to write about my emotions and thoughts after Watergate, during that most difficult time in our nation's history, as well as about the recent revelations from Bob Woodward. ...

Sander Bellman: On the Death of Saadam
I am opposed to all forms of capital punishment, but I suppose the world demanded the death of Saadam. And so it had to occur. But why put him to death? Yes, he deserved it. No doubt in my mind, or anybody else's mind. But does that make us any better by our executing him? ...

Sander Bellman: Was the Death of Saadam Worth It?
If "it" means the deaths (as of this morning) of 2,983 American soldiers, 22,235 wounded, 52,139 Iraqi civilians dead, and the deaths of an excess of 655,000 Iraqi's, then NO. IT WAS NOT WORTH IT! Many years ago, my rabbi gave a sermon about the why some say the holocaust occurred. ...

Beth Farokhi: A Letter from Dr. Beth Farokhi, Thank You.
Dear East Cobb Democratic Alliance: Thank you for all the support I received as I campaigned for the Cobb County School Board in Post 6.
