Dr. Hashim Gibrill is an associate professor and former Chair of the Department of Political Science, Clark Atlanta University, and an adjunct professor at Spelman College. Previously he taught at Bethune-Cookman College, Florida, the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria, and in England. He teaches courses in international relations, African politics, comparative politics, and political research methodology. Dr. Gibrill received his post-secondary education at the University of Reading, England, the University of Birmingham, England, and Atlanta University (now Clark Atlanta University).



Dr. Gibrill has published book chapters and journal articles focusing on African politics, international political economy, and globalization and development. He has current or past memberships in the Association of African Political Scientists, the American Political Science Association, the Georgia Political Science Association, and the National Conference of Black Political Scientists. He has made local presentations on African politics and international relations at The Carter Center, Morehouse College, Agnes Scott College, and Emory University.

Dr. Gibrill was born in London, England of Sierra Leonean parents. He has been a resident in the United States since 1979, is married with 3 children, and currently makes his home in East Point, Georgia.
