It's disappointing that some of the endorsements made by the AJC's editorial board are based on how conservative a district is. Please keep in mind that many races are decided by as few as 8 percent of the qualified voters, which means that a candidate can be elected by as tiny a number as 4 1/2 percent of the voters.

It seems like the editorial board is abdicating its responsibility to endorse the better candidate based on his or her personal qualities. For instance, the board praises Ruth Levy, a state Senate candidate, and Steve Sinton, a candidate for the 6th District of the U.S. Congress, and then endorses their opponents based on the board's opinion of how conservative a district is.

In the future, please allow the voters to decide for themselves if a candidate is too liberal or too conservative.
