After reading the litany of horrors in Iraq in the NYT article by Richard Oppel of January 6, I thought, "How can any thinking American really believe that things are getting better there?"

The Bush administration would have us believe that we must stay the course to return to a stable Iraq.  Even our own 6th District Congressman Tom Price gives his rubber-stamp approval of the strategy.  I'm sorry.  "Staying the course" will do nothing but cause more American loss of life in a country torn asunder by civil war.  A civil war that escalates every day.  

As of this writing, 2210 American patriot have given their lives and 16155 have come home mutilated in this unjustified war of choice.  We cannot wait any longer.

The time to get our ground troops out of Iraq is NOW!  John Murtha's solution was really never seriously considered.  We must pressure our Republican Senators, as well as Hillary Clinton, Joe Lieberman, Congressman Price and Gingrey to demand hearings on his proposal and to get us turned from this mad path of destruction.
