Dear Congressman Price:

You have embarrassed us here in Georgia's 6th District by your approval of the President's suspension of Davis-Bacon Act wage protection provisions during the rebuilding of New Orleans.

At a time when the residents and workers of New Orleans need our assistance, you approve of cutting their wages. How about instead requiring competitive bidding on rebuilding contracts so the President's cronies, like Halliburton, won't reap windfall profits from one of our nation's greatest tragedies?

You wrote, “I commend the President for his continued efforts to cut the red-tape out of the hurricane relief efforts. It is imperative that we ensure that money we have provided to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina be utilized in an efficient and cost-effective manner,” So you approve of denying living wages for the workers who rebuild? How corrupt is that? Have you no morals man?
