The following is a letter sent by Bruce Redd, one of our members
and a member of the DPG Committee, to all elected members of the
State Committee. I encourage our members to contact their
own Cobb State Committee members and ask them to support
Bruce. For those who live outside Cobb, you can find
your county's State Committee members here. Click on "Party
Resources - State Com Members." - Sander Bellman
Dear State Committee Member:
As Democrats, we can no longer sit on our haunches, throw our
hats in the ring and place a “D” behind our names and expect
to win an office. This pass election cycle taught us that for the
first time in over 130 years that we would not control the
Governor’s Mansion nor either chamber of the legislature.
We must earn the vote of the voters again. We must actively
show our constituents that we are the Party of the people, by the
People, and for the People.
My name is Bruce Redd and I am campaigning for the Vice Chair
for Constituency Groups for the State Democratic Party. Vote for
me on May 21, 2005 at the next State Committee meeting.
The primary function of this position is to address the
concerns of our loyal voters. The groups who have historically
supported us in our campaign to be the voice of the average hard
working American. Some of these groups are Labor, African
Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Teachers, and many more.
I commit to you that I will be a voice of reason. A voice that
will listen to your concerns, and hear what you have to say and
work as hard as I can to address those issues most pertinent to
you, in your daily lives.
Who is Bruce Redd and why should you vote for him?
I am a retired IBM manager. I have managed both people and
projects. I have had worldwide responsibility for marketing
product development, merchandising projects and applications. Over
the last 15 years I have been an active member of the State
Committee. I am currently a member of the Cobb County Democratic
Party and I have been a member of various County Parties as I
lived throughout Georgia. I have been the campaign manager for a
candidate for the Office of Sheriff, and the campaign manager for
a candidate for U.S. Congress.
I ask for your support and your vote for one reason. It is time
for a change! We cannot be the old Democratic Party. We must
try new proven ways to get the job done. We must open our minds
and our hearts to our voters. We must change! And I am a
catalyst for change.
Again thank you for your vote . Vote for me on May 21, 2005 at
the State Committee meeting.
