On December 23, 2004, the MDJ published a letter by Carolyn Irwin of Acworth critical of a fabulous letter by Tammy Osborne in the December 19th Edition.  I wrote back the following letter in response:

"In response to Carolyn Irwin's statement of Dec. 23rd. Fortunately for us, Tammy Osborne and other like-minded progressives in Cobb County are not going to let Republicans forget they elected the weakest President in modern history.

George Bush didn't protect us. He weakened us. He weakened our country. He didn't protect us from attack on 9/11. He weakened our reputation throughout the world with his lies and distortions. He weakened environmental protection, consumer protection, and protection for seniors in Medicare. Now he wants to weaken Social Security.

Americans want a compassionate President. One who takes responsibility for his actions. One who protects us. One who champions fairness, freedom, and opportunity. George Bush is not that President.

So Democrats and other responsible progressives are going to take back this Country. We are going to start by electing a new responsible Governor and a new strong Democratic House of Representatives in 2006. We are going to take back the Senate. And then in 2008, we will elect a man, and yes Ms. Irwin, possibly a woman, to lead our country out of the mess Bush and his neocon cabal have caused.

We have been the members of the 'Silent Majority.' But 'Silent' we will be no more."
